# Install & Enable the App Embed

Install the app and turn on storefront protection in your theme.

LabX Fraud Filter ships as a **theme app extension**. Installing the app alone does not protect your storefront yet — you also need to turn on the app embed in your theme.

## 1. Install the app

Install LabX Fraud Filter from the Shopify App Store. You'll be redirected to the app's dashboard inside Shopify Admin after installation.

## 2. Enable the app embed

1. In Shopify Admin, go to **Online Store > Themes**
2. Click **Customize** on your live theme
3. Open **App embeds** (usually in the left sidebar)
4. Turn on **Fraud Guard**
5. Click **Save**

You can also click **Enable app embed** directly from the app's Home page — it deep-links you straight to this screen in the theme editor.

## 3. Confirm protection is active

Back in the app, the Home page shows a status banner:

| Status                  | Meaning                                                        |
| ----------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Protection inactive** | The app embed isn't enabled yet — go back to step 2            |
| **Ready to protect**    | Embed is on, but you haven't created any rules yet             |
| **Protection active**   | Embed is on and at least one rule or bot protection is enabled |

Once you see **Protection active**, your storefront is being evaluated on every page load.
